YN scattering data: HE68

The experiment:

The Σ^- hyperons were produced by stopping K^--mesons in the 81 cm Saclay Hydrogen Bubble Chamber at the CERN PS. The film was scanned for Σ^- p interactions with a visible Λ decay. Only events where the Σ^- hyperon came to rest were considered.

The data:

For the inelastic Σ^- p reaction the capture ratio at rest is

r<sub>c</sub> = 0.474 ± 0.016

The uncertainty includes statistical and systematical uncertainties.
