The experiment:

A 1.39 GeV/c π- beam at the 12 GeV Proton Synchroton at KEK was used to produce Σ+ particles through the (π+,K+) reaction in the scintillating fiber (SCIFI) target. The tracks left by scattering Σ+ in the SCIFI target produced visual image data which were analyzed using an automatic track recognition program. After analyzing, of the remaining candidate events 31 Σ+ p scattering events were selected by eye-scanning.

The data:

Σ+ p → Σ+ p differential cross section (DSG)
based on 31 events in the range 350 - 750 MeV/c

Notes:

For three momentum regions the integrated cross sections for the angular region studied is also given in the text and figures.
